Clarity without the overwhelm

Assessment practice is changing. The principles of good assessment still matter.

New definitions, updated guidance, changing report expectations and an expanding choice of tests can leave even experienced assessors questioning whether they are getting everything right.

The Confident Dyslexia Assessor helps you connect professional guidance with the real decisions you make before, during and after an assessment.

What will this book help you do?

Make purposeful decisions

Gather meaningful background information, choose tests thoughtfully and make every part of the assessment earn its place.

See beyond the scores

Bring quantitative data, qualitative evidence, observation and lived experience together to understand the whole profile.

Reach clearer conclusions

Use converging evidence to explain patterns, recognise strengths and make your diagnostic reasoning visible.

Communicate impact

Show what is harder, slower, more effortful or less reliable for the individual in education, work and everyday life.

Write reports that work

Create reports that are clear, individualised, professionally defensible and genuinely useful to the reader.

Recommend meaningful action

Develop practical recommendations that grow naturally from the evidence, impact and individual circumstances.
