A 5 hours SASC authorised course for SpLD and Dyslexia Specialists. The 2025 changes to diagnostic reporting are here—and with them, a new level of clarity and precision is expected from assessors. This course offers the structure, insight, and confidence you need to implement best practice with ease.
If you are an SpLD/Dyslexia assessor, we are here to guide, reassure and get you up and running with the new report format, one step at a time. No overwhelm, no feeling alone, just practical advice and a clear pathway to follow.
Once you have seen the SASC guidance documents, it is easy to feel overwhelmed and anxious. Without clear guidance, you may end up second-guessing your approach. We will help you by breaking down each change in plain English, explaining the rationale behind it so you know why it matters—not just what to do. You'll gain clarity from the start, reducing confusion and boosting confidence.
Enrolment brings access to others assessors via our Praxis CPD Community, an online group of assessors facing the same challenges as you. You will also be invited to join Praxis Pro, the UK's leading assessor network for on-going access to specialist guidance, as well as additional training opportunities to focus on specific areas.
We understand how precious your time is and there is no leeway for trial and error. We will help you by giving you a shortcut to best practice with ready-to-use tools, real-world examples, and downloadable resources. We will support you to update your practice quickly, confidently, and thoroughly.
Even experienced assessors are anxious about unintentionally omitting a required section or misinterpreting the SASC guidance. We will help you through lots of bonus content alongside the core 5 hour delivery. The full course experience includes structured templates, checklists, and content that walks you through each section step-by-step. You’ll finish knowing your reports include everything they need—and nothing they don’t.
If you would like practical guidance with examples and frameworks, this training is for you.

[email protected]One of the highlights of my work has been leading the APC Review Team at Patoss, where I’ve helped shape and promote best practices across our profession. That work also inspired many of the training courses I’ve developed and delivered, especially for assessors preparing to renew their APC or looking to grow in their professional practice.
Collaboration has always been at the heart of what I do. I’ve served on the Patoss Board and senior management team, and I currently sit on the Board of the SpLD Assessment Standards Committee (SASC), where I’ve been a Director since 2014. Through this role, I’m proud to support the highest standards in diagnostic assessment and to advocate for the assessors who uphold those standards.
Over the years, I’ve also played a key role in the development and evolution of the diagnostic assessment report format — helping to ensure it's not just effective, but practical and meaningful in real-world use. Supporting my colleagues and contributing to our shared success is what drives me every day.
Throughout my career, I've contributed to postgraduate courses at London South Bank and Edge Hill University, where I served as Senior Lecturer on the AMBDA programme.
As an assessor and long term APC holder myself, I can fully empathise with the challenges you may encounter in your professional journey. My goal is to support you in navigating your professional role and to enhance your skills as an assessor. I have a great network of fellow specialists and regularly consult with SASC to ensure that Praxis CPD content is relevant, up to date and accurate.
I am often commended on my ability to simplify potentially complex information, and I strive to bring that clarity to my training and coaching sessions. By working with me, you will embrace my motto of 'This is a do-able job.' I am here to guide you, fine tune you, and demonstrate that maintaining excellence in this field is within your reach.
Join hundreds of SpLD/dyslexia assessors who are ready to be at the forefront of best practice by adopting the new report format. Align your work with the most up to date definitions, new SASC guidance, and current developments in testing.
