Having assessed 5 pupils over this unusual 'lockdown' summer holidays, 3 of which had tricky profiles, I decided I needed to refresh my training in this area and to get some reassurance that it wasn't just me doing it wrong!! I loved the way this course was designed so that I could dip in and out when I had a couple of hours to spare here and there. The website is very cleverly designed to lead you through each stage, and I loved the fact that it had been recorded in chunks, which weren't too long (my short attention span in normal training courses thanks you for that!). Sally-Ann has a really engaging voice and tone, so was easy to listen to, and I really valued that she shared personal experiences of cases she's come across. The only thing I would have liked is some additional discussion around auditory processing disorder, as I've recently has a girl who I thought might have had that issue. Other than that, it was really helpful - thank you!

Sally-Annes training style is so relaxed yet she manages to deliver a huge amount of content! The course has given me good reminders on how to link between tests and scores and some invaluable insights into looking for and explaining some of those tricky profiles. Guidance on wording was also very well received! Thank you so much. I’d definitely recommend.

Sally-Ann is the perfect trainer - the course was informative, accessible and a brilliant consolidation of what I probably know but haven't necessarily joined together in my thinking. What makes it particularly useful, is the unravelling of tricky profiles and provision of solid information around other SpLDs. Additionally, her examples of language to use in assessment writing will be incredibly useful. I would definitely recommend this to others.

A great course full of useful information and resources to refer to when faced with a profile that doesn’t quite tick all the boxes for a clear-cut diagnosis.

The style of presentation is very engaging and there is so much content

Feedback received

course attendee February 2020

Clearly the presenter has huge amounts of experience (and empathy). Massive amount covered. Answered lots of questions for me.

Feedback received

course attendee February 2020

The best thing about this course was how it looked at a range of exemplar profiles, and considered the overall 'best fit' in relation to observations and background information, as well as scores. Being aware of how WRIT scores can be 'skewed'.

Feedback received

course attendee February 2020

This course has given me confidence to present a case for diagnosis where the scores don't necessarily match the observations and background information. Also not to feel pressured to diagnose where evidence is insufficient

Thank you so much- best training I have had as an assessor!
