This course, superbly delivered by Sally-Ann gave me far more than I expected. Looking at the WRIT from the view point of what is it really testing and how the scores relate to other areas of the assessment process was, as Sally-Ann says an eyes wide open, lightbulb moment for me. I found the part where she describes a suggested framework for reporting the cognitive profile brilliant, for the new report format.

I fully recommend this course. Sally-Ann has clearly spent a lot of time preparing this course and in my opinion she has done a brilliant job. I now feel more confident in using the WRIT and on how to interpret the results of each subtest, make connections with other tests and how to report on each one of them. 5 stars from me!

I feel enthused about reporting on the WRIT in my future assessment reports. This training explicitly runs through the WRIT and demystifies the complex language that accompanies any discussions on the WRIT. I feel I understand it at a deeper level now.

I started this CPD because after assessing for several years and never having any issues reporting on the WRIT I had a niggling feeling that I was referring to scores too much and not making the links throughout the profile. After a couple of assessments with one very low writ subtest that I didn't know how to explain or report on I decided I needed some CPD. Sally-Anne very simply and reassuringly talks you through the subtests, the wording, the impact of different issues and demystifies the whole 'underlying ability' conundrum. I've become a big fan of focussed CPD that explores a battery of tests. I draw on them all the time when I write a report. If I was a parent of a child being assessed I would want an assessor that was prepared to find something out if they came across something they weren't confident about, and this CPD was perfect for that. I would recommend it for anyone, experienced or novice, especially anyone like me, who thought they didn't need it!!

I now feel a lot more confident about why I am using the WRIT.... rather than it being 'another test I should do'

I now have a clearer understanding of what is what. During Level 7 training we have a broad understanding but this training explained it better and easier.
