Hear from assessors who have already joined our professional community

The Praxis Pro community has given me a safe space to ask questions, feel supported and benefit from Sally Ann’s guidance as well as colleagues. Being with fellow assessors without the negative noise that we’ve experienced in some other groups/platforms has allowed me to focus on what we do as assessors and why it matters. I have learnt a lot and it’s made me want to be better.

I have, recently, newly set up as a private assessor after years of specialist assessing and teaching in schools. The process has been a steep learning curve and Praxis Pro has been invaluable in reassuring, guiding, informing, advising and reducing anxiety. Streets ahead of other training organisations, I'd say!

Why I Created This Membership

As a fellow SpLD assessor, I know first-hand how challenging it can be to stay up to date with SASC guidelines and CPD requirements whilst you are busy with your assessment sessions, reports, and life in general.

I created Praxis Pro to provide an opportunity for committed assessors wanting to be at the forefront of best practice.  I was a Patoss APC Reviewer and Trainer for 5 years, as well as a Senior Lecturer in SpLD, and this, alongside my current consultancy work, means I have a vast range of expertise, knowledge and information to share with you. I make sure Praxis Pro content is fully aligned with SASC guidance, and we leave no stone unturned!

Praxis Pro is a wonderful community of like-minded professionals, all working to the same goal; to be the best assessor we can be.  You will expand your professional network and have immediate access to practical guidance and the kind of trusted advice I wish I had when I started out on my assessor journey.

This isn't just about theoretical knowledge. It's about giving you practical tools and a supportive community to help you navigate the day-to-day challenges of SpLD/dyslexia assessment with confidence.

Be ready to be guided, fine tuned and feel confident that excellence in assessing is well within your reach. Come and join us and you’ll see exactly what I mean. Praxis Pro really is the most positive and supportive place for assessors to be. We can't wait to welcome you!

Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to the most common questions about Praxis Pro.

Is this suitable for new/experienced assessors?

Absolutely! This membership is perfect for both new and experienced assessors. New assessors will benefit from our comprehensive resources, practical guidance, and supportive community to build confidence. Experienced assessors value staying up-to-date with SASC changes and connecting with peers.

What happens after I join?

After joining, you'll receive immediate access to all our resources and community. You'll get login details via email, along with instructions on how to access the private podcast, webinar recordings, and document library. You'll also receive information about upcoming live sessions and how to participate.

Do I need to attend the webinars live?

No, while we encourage live participation for the interactive benefits, all webinars and Q&A sessions are recorded and added to our library so you can watch them at your convenience. You can also submit questions in advance if you can't attend live. Live sessions tend to be held on weekday evenings, with a 7pm start.

Can I cancel my membership at any time?

Yes, you can cancel your membership at any time. If you cancel, you'll continue to have access until the end of your current billing period. No refunds are provided.

How often is new content added?

We regularly update our content to keep you informed of the latest SASC changes and best practices. We host quarterly Q&A sessions, usually add new bitesize training webinars monthly, and release podcast episodes to reflect new sessions. When SASC makes updates, we provide guidance as quickly as possible.

What is included in the membership?

Your membership includes access to all our resources: bitesize training webinars, quarterly Q&A sessions, private podcast episodes, assessor toolkit with report writing frames, and SASC guidance exploration videos. You'll also be part of our supportive community of SpLD assessors.

Can I pay monthly?

We don't offer credit facilities. Our aim with Praxis Pro is to have real impact on your professional practice, and we don't believe we can have that level of effect in just one month.  We do understand, though, that budgets can be tight. That's why we introduced the quarterly option for lower initial outlay. You can always switch to annual later if you wish. The annual fee is definitely best value- it equates to £5.07 per week!

Should I join Praxis Pro or APC 1-2-3?

Praxis Pro will help you in the long term and it is certainly possible to be a member of Praxis Pro alongside joining APC 1-2-3. APC 1-2-3 provides intensive SASC Authorised coaching to support you in your APC renewal preparation.  Praxis Pro members benefit from a 15% discount, so if you want to do both, join Praxis Pro first to gain maximum benefit.

APC 1-2-3: The APC Renewal Companion for Dyslexia Assessors

Can I get any one to one help?

Yes!  You have the option to access one to one coaching with Sally-Ann with a PAYG upgrade.  We do mentoring differently  by offering private chats/messaging with Sally-Ann via an app on your mobile phone or desktop.

You can discuss a challenge you are facing and ask any questions you have in complete privacy. Sally-Ann will get back to you with specific guidance and advice, and there is always time for discussion and idea development. These sessions occur on specific dates throughout the academic year.

Is there scope to focus on specific topics?

Yes! You are invited to suggest topics for inclusion in our bitesize training sessions, as well as to submit questions for our Q+A sessions.  These are available as part of your core membership, as is the online community where you will often find a great source of support from other members.

In addition, we hold regular group workshops where we focus on a particular topic, such as writing recommendations for a specific age group, capturing qualitative analysis in reports, interpreting tricky profiles together, free writing analysis in practice, and so on. These are particularly helpful for implementing new format guidance and all that entails as we adjust our practices. The group workshops are available as optional PAYG add-ons to your core membership, so if there is a topic coming up that grabs your attention, you can book a place.

Do the fees include VAT?

Yes the fees stated here are inclusive of VAT at 20%.  Please email [email protected] if you require a VAT receipt.

Still have questions?

If you can't find the answer to your question, please feel free to reach out directly.
