What’s actually different

Mastery is not more content. It’s implementation.

Mastery is built for assessors who want structured practice, tangible outputs and direct support as they develop their craft. Three things make Mastery a different experience.

Difference I

Two best practice frameworks:

Two best-practice frameworks: the Praxis Assessment Compass (a process for working through an assessment) and the SAFE Report Anchor (how you write the report) keep you secure in your professional practice.

Embedded repeatable principles and implementation frameworks
Difference II

9 'Missions' across the year. 9 tangible outputs.

For each assessment topic, choose to focus on assessment practice, report writing, or both, and complete every Mission with a practical outcome you can use in your work.

Practical takeaways to strengthen your assessment skills.
Difference III

Ongoing support, direct with a trusted expert

Sally-Ann presents each Mission, setting the task/s to complete. Attend one or both of the live coaching calls, plus an individual Voxer chat direct with Sally-Ann. Plus a Mastery-only community.

Ongoing reflection, refinement and development
A pair of hands annotating a psychometric test record at a wooden desk.

The question I’ve been asked more than any other is some version of this: “I’m trying my best to meet expectations and keep up to date, but I really don’t know if I am getting things right.” Mastery is what I’ve built to bring you the reassurance you need.

What Mastery is built on

Two frameworks. The two halves of the job.

You undertake the assessment using the Praxis Assessment Compass to inform your assessment sessions and decisions. You write the report using the SAFE Report Anchor. These are exclusive best-practice frameworks. Every Mission, every Foundation module, every live session is built on top of them.

The Praxis Assessment Compass: a circular brand mark with Evidence, Analysis, Impact and Action labelled at the cardinals, and Individual at the centre.
· Powers the PAC Missions

The Praxis Assessment Compass

Evidence → Analysis → Impact → Action. The framework for how you work through an assessment. Four cardinals; you move between them as the assessment evolves.

Strengthens assessor judgement.

The SAFE Report Writing Anchor: a circular brand mark with an anchor in the centre and S, A, F, E labelled around its cardinals.
I · Powers the SAFE Missions

The SAFE Report Writing Anchor

SASC-aligned. APC-ready. Fit for the individual. Efficient and effective. The framework for how you write the report once the assessment is done.

Finds assessor voice.

Get started

Both frameworks, every Mission, both Foundations — from £549.

Before the Missions begin

Two foundation modules. Included before the Missions begin.

Before the first Mission, two self-study modules give you the underlying thinking the Mission work rests on. They are being prepared now and will be released before the first Mission work begins, so you can return to them as often as you need throughout your enrolment.

Foundation I

Statistics for Safer Interpretation

Standard scores, confidence intervals, significance, prevalence, safe interpretation. The numerical floor every diagnostic decision rests on.

Self-study · released before Mission work begins
Foundation II

Qualitative Analysis · Moving beyond scores

Observation, asking, probing, reflection. How to understand the story behind the scores and bring it into the report.

Self-study · released before Mission work begins

Statistics gives the structure. Qualitative analysis gives the story.

Being built for the founding cohort

An exclusive self-study library, rolling out across your enrolment.

Underneath the Missions sits a growing reference layer of self-study material — the PAC and SAFE thinking, in depth. It’s being built for the founding cohort and released progressively across the year, starting before the first Mission. As a founding member you get every part as it lands — at no extra cost.

Work through it in your own order

As material is released, go in sequence or jump straight to whatever you need. Nothing is locked behind a Mission schedule.

Built around the same core concepts

The material maps to the thinking the Missions are built on, so the library and the Missions reinforce each other as it grows.

A reference you keep coming back to

Use it as a working reference throughout your enrolment — pull up the relevant material whenever a real case raises a question.

Released across your enrolment. Yours to refer back to for the whole 12 months.

What a Mission actually is

Each Mission is one self-contained unit of practice.

A Mission is a four-week cycle: one task, using your own case study, with bounded peer support, ending with something tangible. The unit Mastery is built around, and the unit the programme keeps adding to.

Mission opens

Watch the recorded orientation, complete the self-study, plan for the task and identify where you would like to focus

Undertake the task

Complete the Mission task over the week. This could be a report sample, evaluation, or resource to integrate into your future practice. Swap notes with peers in the Mastery group.

Two live sessions

Assessing with Confidence (judgement). Writing with Confidence (voice). Attend either, or both. Discuss, get feedback, share your thoughts.

Voxer support window

One-to-one chat in the Voxer window with Sally-Ann, for individual guidance on the current Mission.

One Mission. One task. Two live sessions. One Voxer window. One tangible outcome.

The honest fit

Mastery is not for everyone. Here’s who it’s built for.

Mastery is for you if…

  • You are Level 7 newly qualified graduate assessor and want to gain confidence, or an established assessor wanting to refresh your current approaches
  • You stay current with Pro but want to actively develop your craft
  • You want to build on your 2025 report format training and check you are doing it right
  • You want measurable progress to point to at your next APC
  • You want a peer community with everyone sharing the same focus at the same time
  • You can give four weeks of attention to each Mission

Mastery is not for you if…

  • You are still completing initial assessor training
  • You want a Level 7 qualification course
  • You need 1:1 supervision or full report marking
  • You want someone to approve your full test battery
  • You want APC renewal milestone support (that is APC 1-2-3)
  • You want passive watch-and-do-nothing content
Questions I get asked

Before you decide.

Is Mastery just a series of Missions?

No. Alongside the Missions, a comprehensive self-study library — exclusive to Mastery — is being built for the founding cohort and released across your enrolment, taking you through every element of the PAC and SAFE model in detail. The aim is to embed these principles into your everyday practice, so that you are not only ready to take on the Missions with more clarity, but feel secure in your assessment practice — now and in the future.

Is this initial assessor training?

No. Mastery is post-qualification practice development. It assumes you are Level 7 qualified and ready to apply, refine and strengthen those skills.

Is Mastery SASC Authorised?

Yes. On completion of the year-long programme you will be able to claim 5 hours SASC Authorised CPD — the maximum number of hours permitted by SASC for any course.

Will you mark or review my reports?

No. Mastery includes structured Missions, group sessions and bounded Voxer windows, but it does not include 1:1 feedback, full report reviews, individual report marking or APC submission support. For APC renewal support, see APC 1-2-3.

Can I just buy one Mission?

Yes. Single Missions are £99 each as a low-commitment way in. The full 12-month enrolment is dramatically better value: £549 pay in full (or 3 × £199 on the payment plan) compared with £891 if you bought all nine standalone. Individual Missions do not include Community access or Foundation Module access. Pro members get an additional 15% off the enrolment, applied automatically at checkout.

What if I’m already a Praxis Pro member?

Your 15% Pro discount is applied automatically at checkout, on either the pay-in-full or the payment-plan option. Your existing Pro programme, including any legacy Pro pricing, is unaffected. Mastery is additional, and can run alongside Pro.

What if I miss a live session?

Each Mission has two live sessions in Week 3 (Assessment Practice and Writing with Confidence). Both are recorded and added to the Mission area. The Voxer support window in Week 4 is asynchronous, so you can join in your own time.

Is this APC renewal preparation?

No, that is APC 1-2-3. Mastery strengthens your everyday report-writing practice using SAFE. Many assessors find Mastery makes their next APC easier, but it is not designed around the renewal process itself.

When do Missions start?

Sign up now for access to the Mastery community and the material that is ready for the founding cohort. The Foundation Modules are being prepared and will be released before the first Mission work begins. Missions begin in September 2026 and run monthly through to June 2027, with quiet months in July, August and April. December 2026 carries the lighter mini-Mission (Mission IX, Efficient and effective writing).

Is this a 12-month enrolment or an ongoing programme?

Structurally it is a 12-month enrolment, not a subscription. There is no auto-renewal. Year One (June 2026 to June 2027) is the founding-cohort cycle, with Missions sequenced to support the 2025 report-format transition.

At the end of the 12 months, you’re welcome to continue into the next cycle — and founding-cohort members maintain their original price. Most members will want to: the same nine Missions repeat with refreshed focus, new self-study content is added, the community deepens. Many members will need ongoing support well into 2027 and beyond as the new format beds in. Mastery is built for the long haul, not just the deadline.

What happens at the end of my 12-month enrolment?

The standard Year Two price will be higher than founding pricing (likely £799), but founding-cohort members will maintain their original price. Praxis Pro members still get 15% off if they remain active members. If you continue, you stay in the community, keep access to the self-study library, and run through Year Two’s Mission cycle with your fresh case studies. If you don’t continue, access ends at month 12. There are no auto-renewals. This is not a subscription.

About Sally-Ann

These frameworks aren’t theory. They’re how I work.

The Praxis Assessment Compass and the SAFE Report Writing Anchor have grown out of years of front-line assessment practice, report writing, training, and supporting other assessors through the APC process.

As a former Patoss APC Reviewer, I have read a lot of reports. I have seen where assessors feel confident, where they get stuck, and where good practice can become buried under anxiety, overthinking or trying to second-guess what “they” want.

Praxis Mastery brings my book, The Confident Assessor, to life.

It takes the frameworks, principles and practical guidance from the book and turns them into a structured, supported pathway. You don’t need to just read about best practice — you will apply it, refine it, and make it part of the way you work.

This is the practical next step for assessors who want to move beyond keeping up and start feeling genuinely grounded, confident and clear in their assessment practice.
